Thanks for your prayers
It is because of the prayers and financial support that we receive that enables us to do the work that the Lord has called us to. Thanks for the part that you play. Here is a list of praise and prayer as of June 21.
Praise Report
- Our personal health and strength—spiritually as well as physically—is improved.
- We rejoice that the people have been so encouraged singing Hymns in Notsi.
- Matthew Lako has had his surgery and is nearly fully recovered.
- Shirley (Seli) Taupis is doing much better with her anemia since she started taking iron.
- We are making progress in our language learning.
- His word that renews our spirits daily.
- We received a special gift to help us repair the walls on village house and this will certainly help with security of the house as well as help relieve allergies. Replacing the outer bamboo walls should help with bat infestation, too.
- We had a very successful literacy and Scripture Use workshop May 3-14 with three Central New Ireland languages. We developed texts for a transition primer for those educated in English to transfer reading skills to their languages. Kevin was a great help with typing texts and showing videos in the evenings.
- Don and Sharon Hutchisson are back in Papua New Guinea and the Sursurunga New Testament dedication is August 15.
Prayer Request
- Pray for Gertrude's mother how had a stroke in May. She is recovering well, but she is no longer able to live on her own.
- Pray that the Lord will make a way for Gertrude to go home to help take care of mother for about 6 weeks this Fall.
- The Madara and the Sursurunga are celebrating completed New Testament translations this year. Pray that the people from various dialects will accept these New Testaments and be able to read them with understanding and conviction.
- Pray for the Lord’s protection and encouragement of Madara and Sursurunga Bible translators especially as they have just finished a major work for the Kingdom of God.
- The on going work of translating hymns into Notsi.
- Continued support and prayers of our financial partners as we minister in Bible translation and literacy.
- Salvation of unsaved relatives and re-dedication of those who have walked away from the Lord.
- Wisdom, health and strength of our parents and siblings with chronic illness; and also my nephew, Denard who suffers from diabetes and is have some serious complications.
- Partners in ministry for new Wycliffe missionaries—partners for prayer and finances.
